The tax initiative of the Ministry of Finance will help stop the outflow of specialists from Russia

The tax initiative of the Ministry of Finance will help stop the drain of qualified Russian personnel to the West. She told about it RIA Novosti Head of the Expert Center for Criminal Law Policy and Enforcement of Judicial Acts “Business Russia” Ekaterina Avdeeva.

According to the expert, the policy of Western countries to create a negative image of the Russian economy leads to an outflow of qualified specialists from the country. Countermeasures must be taken to retain valuable personnel.

One of such measures is the draft law of the Ministry of Finance with a number of tax innovations., noted Avdeeva. The department proposed to fix in the Tax Code a norm on, that the benefits paid by domestic companies to teleworkers, outside the country, will be classified as income from Russian sources.

noted, that if this rule is adopted, Employees of Russian companies who have gone abroad will continue to pay income tax from their salaries to the Russian treasury. Employers will pay taxes for such employees, and the personal income tax rate in this case may increase from 13%, which are established for tax residents of the Russian Federation, to 30%, established for non-residents.

Avdeeva emphasized, that this project is strategically necessary both for the economy, as well as for citizens, “after all, in the long run, all this is directly related to the growth of prosperity in our country”.
